When she and her husband retired in North Pole,
Jeannette became active in church, civic and
senior activities. Having fallen in love with the
beauty of Alaska and wanting to portray the special
quality of the people, landscape and freedom of
the North, she picked up her oil painting hobby
after years of waiting for the "right time". Her
